Born August 9, 1956, in Ogden, Utah — Passed away on October 28 at 5:30 a.m. at his home, surrounded by family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Katie Gladwell; his son, Andy Wilcox; and his two grandchildren, McKay and Maylee Wilcox.
Jon was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was especially important to him as he neared the end of his life. He was a respected and accomplished business owner who earned the admiration of his peers.
He had a deep love for music—especially the guitar—and found great joy spending time on the golf course. Even as his health declined, he would joke that he’d rather be out golfing.
Jon’s life teaches a simple but lasting lesson through his own favorite words: “Life ain’t that hard—enjoy.”
Jon faced great personal and physical trials throughout his life with courage and perseverance to the very end. He met every challenge with strength and grace, and we are proud of him for it.
We love you, Dad, with all our hearts.
A service to celebrate Jon’s life will be held at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
