John Prentice Walton

Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle passed away Friday January 9, 2026 surrounded by his family. John Prentice Walton was born May 2, 1946, to Harold Lee Walton and Bernice (Eyre) Flores in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was baptized into the Lutheran church.

He married Donna (Onechyk) Moore. They had one son Bill who was born in 1968, they later divorced. He married Joan (Penman) Wolwrath. They had one daughter, Nicole, who was born in 1974; they later divorced. He married his soulmate LuJeanne (Cash) Walton in 1985 and they married again in 2023.

He was a proud Marine and a Marine Reservist.

He worked at Hill Air Force Base for several years and owned his own auto mechanic shop Rainbow Auto Repair in Ogden, Utah.

He enjoyed being a member of the Klunker Klub of Ogden, Utah and the Northern Utah Truck Pulling Association and the British Bike Club of Utah and making many friends along the way.

John enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life being a lifelong Chicago Bears fan, watching the Utah Jazz, drag racing, snowmobiling, and boxing.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father Harold Walton, mother Bernice Flores, beloved stepfather Sonny Flores, and his youngest brother Joseph Walton.

He is survived by his wife LuJeanne Walton, son Bill (Michiko) Walton, daughter Nicole (Daniel) Bryant, stepdaughters; Shannon Burbridge, Becky (Richard) Asbury, Rachel Hurtado and his adopted son Michael Darling, brother Dennis (Barbara) Walton, and sister Teri (Michael) Reel. His grandchildren; Andrew, Victoria, Daniel, Corbin, Allison, Jonathan, Tyler, Joshua and his two beloved grand-dogs Elsa and Susie Q, and many nieces, nephews and their children.

The family would like to thank the team at Elevation Hospice that took care of our loved one, Jacoy, Makayla, Austin, Danny, and Timmy.
