LAYTON a€" John Norris Meadows, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home.

He was born July 17, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Clyde Leland and Vera Johanna Gronlund Meadows. John grew up in Holladay and graduated from Granite High School.

John married Isabel Hutchings on June 25, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was a member of the Layton Park Ward and served as Elders Quorum Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Councilor and in scouting.

John retired from Hill Air Force Base after 37 years of service.

He loved to fish, camp, hunt, shooting and just loved being outdoors.

Surviving are his wife Isabel, Layton; three sons, Reese (Wendy) Meadows, Henderson, NV; Bret (Melisa) Meadows, Layton; Deon (Tammy) Meadows, Springfield, OR; four daughters, Deniece (Jack) Huddleston, West Jordan; Vanett Meyer, Layton; Tracy (Mike) Gorder, Sunset; Kelli (Mike DiBene) Meadows, Long Beach, CA; 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clyde Dennis Meadows, Harold Ray Meadows and Vinton LeRoy Hutchings.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
