John Patrick Flynn passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025. John was the seventh of nine children. Born on July 20 ,1951 to Morris Edward and Jean Francis Flynn.
John married Linda Jo Foster on April 15, 1972. They enjoyed 53 very happy years together. Linda was his rock. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Shanan Lea Flynn (deceased) and Jamey Jo Sheridan.
He worked for GSL/Compass Mineral for over 30 years.
John was a kind and loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He held these relationships in high honor; he was always there to lend a helping hand. John loved his family, his fur babies, and building and driving fast cars! He was amazing at both! He also loved fishing, camping, and a good story.
He served in the United States Army volunteering at 17 so he could serve with his big brother Mike. He served in Ft.Ord, California and Owkinawa, Japan. He was the first of three generations of Ben Lomond Scots followed by his children and half his grandchildren.
John is now released from his pain and the misery of cancer and free to run with his loved ones on the other side. Knowing this brings us great comfort.
John is survived by his adoring wife, Linda Jo Foster Flynn; his daughter, Jamey Jo (Kevin) Sheridan; grandchildren, Carson (Rosa) Chadwick; Heather Lea Chadwick (Patrick Montoya), Greyson Fonoti (Ruby Zaugg) and Sydney Jo Fonoti; his brother, Michael (Brooke) Flynn; his sisters, Connie (Jim deceased) Barri, Janet Flynn, and Deborah (Greg) Harms; and 32 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shanan Lea Flynn; his parents, Jean and Morris Flynn; his mother and father in-law, Zelda and Joe Foster; his sister, Sheryl Anne Flynn; brothers, David Wallace Flynn, Gerald James Flynn, and Kevin Lee Flynn.
The family would like to thank Atlas Hospice for the care they provided to John.
