Joel LeGrant Shreeve
November 21, 1957 ~ January 1, 2022
Joel LeGrant Shreeve, 64, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend, returned home to our Heavenly Father on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 21, 1957, the son of LeGrant Fuller and Joyce Barnes Shreeve. Joel was born and raised in Ogden and attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Bonneville High School Class of 1976. He also attended Weber State University for two years. After high school and during his college years, Joel worked for the IRS.
In his younger years, Joel loved to ski with his friends and cousins and his favorite Uncle Bob. He enjoyed using his Ham Radio and CB Radio for many years. He would always say how much he enjoyed talking to people in other parts of Utah and other states and getting to know them. Joel lived at the St. Benedict Manor Complex for many years, where he made many friends and associates. Joel was a member of the St. Benedict Manor Branch, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as the Elders Quorum Secretary. Our family is sad to say goodbye, but happy for him, he has joined the others who have gone before him. After a life of so many mental and physical challenges he now can soar like an eagle and shed all boundaries that have made him suffer for so long. We will miss him so much, but we will see him again.
The family would like to thank Mount Ogden Rehabilitation Care Center for their care and the love they gave Joel while he was there. A special thanks to the sweet nurses, Natalie, Rachel and Kylee.
Joel is survived by his sister, Carrie (Dan) Sainsbury of Layton; five nieces and five nephews; his nieces and nephews were always so special to him, and he loved them as if they were his own. He is also survived by many loving and wonderful friends and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
