JoDell (Jody) Huband Charlesworth-Stevens

JoDell Huband Charlesworth-Stevens, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Country Home Assisted Living in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on July 19, 1939, in Van Nuys, California, the daughter of Lane and Ruth Peterson Huband.

She married the love of her life, Gary Boyd Charlesworth, on June 13, 1958, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. Gary and Jody were inseparable and loved spending time together. Dancing was one of their favorite pastimes and always put a smile on their faces. They also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. Gary passed away on October 1, 2013. Jody married David Stevens on April 22, 2018. David took great care of Jody during their short time together.

Family was Jody’s everything. She loved spending time at her cabin in Island Park, Idaho, with her husband Gary and their children and grandchildren. While there, she enjoyed picking wild huckleberries and serving them up in a hot syrup over butter brickle ice cream. Jody enjoyed singing in her ward choir, cooking wonderful meals for friends and family, and working in her garden. She had a great sense of fashion and loved shopping. She also loved being out in the sun and made sure to walk and exercise daily.

Jody is survived by her husband David Stevens; her children, Jed (Noriko) Charlesworth of Danville, CA, Bret (Sheree) Charlesworth of Sandy, UT, Denise (Fred) Bone of Ogden, UT, Brian (Spring Bengtzen) Charlesworth of Fruit Heights, UT, and Culley (Jackie) Charlesworth of Pleasant View, UT; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother Frank Huband and sister Connie Sneddon. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Boyd Charlesworth; parents, Lane and Ruth Huband; brothers Thomas Huband, Edwin Huband, and George Huband.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Country Home Assisted Living who were so wonderful to Jody and treated her like family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary where friends can visit with the family. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
