JoAnne Coon Robinson, 75, graduated this life and returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 26,2025 in Roy, Utah. She was born on January 30, 1950 to Theron Earl Coon and Anna Jane Blood in Salt Lake City, Utah.
JoAnne grew up in Magna, Utah. She attended Cyprus High School and Brigham Young University. Early on, she worked as a legal secretary, then worked many years as a secretary in the Tactical Division at Thiokol. She concluded her career by serving as Executive Assistant to three presidents of Weber State University. This was also where she met some of her best friends.
She married Leland LaSelle Robinson on July 12, 1979 in Provo, Utah. They were sealed for eternity in the Manti Utah Temple. JoAnne dearly loved her five children, eighteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and was always happiest when surrounded by her family. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She and Lee completed a service mission in the Utah Ogden Mission in 2014-2015.
JoAnne was an excellent cook and loved feeding her family. She was a wonderful pianist and got her first church organist calling at age 12. She was an avid reader and crocheted the most beautiful afghans and baby blankets for her loved ones. She loved camping with her family and being in the mountains, and she had a quiet, witty sense of humor.
JoAnne bravely fought against the effects of Parkinson’s disease later in her life. She regularly attended a Parkinson's boxing class and even had her very own pair of pink Everlast boxing gloves, much to the delight of her grandchildren. Her spirit stayed strong even as her body grew weaker, and we are forever grateful for her love, humor, and her endurance to the end.
She is survived by her husband, Leland Robinson; children, Lee (Alexi) Robinson, Jr., Jac (Melanie) Lindell, DeAnna (Jason) Fife, Erin (Alex) Heslop, and Jeff Robinson; sister, Sheron (Blair) Bradshaw; brother, Kelly (Cindy) Coon; eighteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many beloved in-laws.
Preceded in death by her parents, Theron and Anna Coon; step-mom, Laurie Thompson Holley Coon; sister, Carla Coon Jones; and nephew, Joshua Bradshaw.
