Jerry Milford Holcombe

November 13, 1933 ~ February 25, 2018

Jerry Milford Holcombe loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away at home after many years of failing health at the age of 84.

He was born in Honey Path, SC on November 13, 1933, the son of George Milford and Mary Ware Holcombe.

On February 21, 1957, Jerry married Lily Jo Crosley in Marlin, TX. They enjoyed 61 loving years together; from this union three daughters were born.

After high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Texas, California, Japan and Utah. After 13 years he was honorably discharged and began his career at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft technician, retiring in 1987.

Jerry enjoyed building and flying remote controlled airplanes which he was past President and member of the Northern Utah Radio Controlled Aircraft Club. His passion was riding motorcycles which began at an early age. He was past Vice President and member of the Beehive Beemers BMW Motorcycle Club of Utah. He and Jo attended many BMW rallies and campouts until his health declined.

The night of his passing we wondered which BMW or R/C he was riding or flying and decided he’s enjoying all of them.

Jerry is survived by his wife; daughters, Val (Mickey) Venstra, West Point; Teresa (Don) Todd, Clinton; Jeri (Steve) Olsen, Ogden; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Balentine.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mikio Obayashi and to Encompass Hospice for the care they provided to our husband and father.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Roy, 2025 West 5700 South. The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
