Jerry R. Britton

Jerry Raymond Britton, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2016 with his wife and children at his bedside in Woods Cross, Utah. He was born on October 6, 1936 and was reared in the home of Osro and Selma Tilby. He married DeeAnn Bench September 5, 1953. They were later sealed for time and eternity April 20, 1966 in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Okinawa and Korea. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 34 years of service. Much of his life was devoted to family and God. He maintained several church responsibilities, including welfare service missionary, temple missionary (Palmyra, NY) and ordinance worker for 15 years at the Bountiful Utah Temple. He enjoyed many things and some of his personal passions involved golf, fly fishing, target shooting, photography, sports cars, and ATV Adventures.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his favorite dog, Shaylee. He is survived by his wife and four children, Rick (Rauline), Sue (Dave) Rotert, Machell (Jerry) Madsen, Scott, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 S. 800 W.   Friends may visit family, Tuesday, May 3rd from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Wed. from 9:30-10:30am at the Church prior to services.  Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
