Jennifer "Jen" Thackeray

April 2, 1973 — December 29, 2023

With a gentle heart and deep respect, we share the news of Jennifer Thackeray’s peaceful passing after a brief encounter with breast cancer, a disease battled previously by her beloved mother, Kathleen Thackeray.

Jennifer was born at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut, the daughter of Gregg and Kathleen Hammon Thackeray. The family settled in South Weber, Utah, where Jenny grew up.

She appreciated the simple things in life, embracing the gentle flow of life away from the hustle of the mainstream. Jenny’s quiet fortitude and unspoken strength were a testament to her resilient spirit. The deep connection with her mother, Kathleen, who predeceased her, now transforms into a serene reunion filled with peace and comfort.

Jenny is survived by her father, Gregg (Christy) Thackeray; sister, Angela (Todd) Harkness; brother, Colby (Rachelle) Thackeray; and three nieces, BreeAna, Ava, and Scarlet.

In honoring Jenny’s lifelong preference for privacy, there will be no public services. She will be laid to rest next to her mother at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.

A celebration of Jenny’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we invite donations to help cover mortuary fees and medical costs, a gesture that would greatly support the family during this time of transition and reflection.

A memorial account has been set up under the name Jennifer Thackeray at America First Credit Union. Any excess funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Jenny. May her legacy be a beacon of warmth to those who knew her.
