Jeffrey John McGill died of natural causes on July 28, 2025 in West Haven, UT. He was 61 years old. Jeff was born to Grant J. and Donna M. Hansen McGill on February 4, 1964, in Ogden, UT. He lived in the Ogden area his whole life. Jeff attended Ogden City Schools. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at L3 Communications until his retirement at the age of 49. Jeff acquired many patents while working as a mechanical engineer. Jeff’s interests were many. He worked hard as a young man to become an Eagle Scout. Jeff loved hunting and fishing; competing in Atlatl contests; working on cars and learning to play the guitar.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Grant and Donna, a younger brother Tim, and his beloved dog Max. Jeff is survived by his two sisters, Judy (Paul) Geiger, Seaside, OR and Debbie (Bryan) McGill, Lima, MT.

There will be a graveside service on August 20, 2025, at 11 am. The service will be held at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St, Ogden, UT 84403. It will be conducted by Pastor Jon Draskovic of the Ogden First Presbyterian Church.

Debbie and Judy wish to thank all of Jeff’s friends and acquaintances that supported him along his life’s journey. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate in honor of Jeff to Primary Children’s Hospital or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
