Layton a€" Our beloved husband, father, son and brother, was called home November 23, 2010.

He was born September 8, 1958 in Ogden, the son of Dr. Renald Robert McFarland and Maurine "Jane" Anderson McFarland.

He married Patricia Irene Kartchner on February 14, 2001.

He graduated from Layton High School, and throughout his life he was a handyman, mechanic and plumber. He loved working with his hands and helping people.

Following graduation he served as a repair and service engineer on a fleet fishing boat with his first wife, Jill Keeling. Jeff and Jill had one son, Jess Mattson McFarland (from St. George), prior to their divorce.

Jeff was a member of the LDS Church and had a testimony of God and our Savior. He was a devoted family man, attentive to his mother on a daily basis, warm and friendly to all around him. Jeff always had a smile on his face and a hug to share.

He is survived by his loving wife, mother, Layton; son, one brother, Steven (Marsha) McFarland, Kaysville; and seven sisters, Annette (Dave) Wigham, Bountiful; Janene (Randy) Bennett, Riverdale; Tina (Randy) Rhodes, Kaysville; Ginger (Sam) Beeson, Sammamish, WA; Wendy (Bob) Christensen, Layton; Jill (Steven) Christensen, Layton; Jodi (Jacob) Smalley, Layton.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 9 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
