Jean Ridler

Jean Elizabeth Ridler

1941-2016

On May 5th, 2016, at age 74, Jean passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side.

Jean was born on October 25th, 1941 to Sarah Elizabeth Taylor (Mason) and Francis Robert Taylor of Wells-Next-the-Sea, Norfolk, England.

Jean was married to Barry Desmond Leggatt (deceased) on March 24th 1962 at

St. Nicholas Church, Wells, England.

Jean was married to Timothy Thompson (deceased) on September 12th 1970 at the Fakenham Register Office, England.

Jean was married to Lanny "Ross" Ridler (deceased) on October, 7th, 2002 at the Farmington Courthouse, Utah.

Mum was raised as the Harbour Masters daughter in Wells and continued to be a fisherman's wife in Wells-Next-the-Sea England until her move to the USA in 1973. Returning to England in 1979 she made her final move to Utah in 1984, living the last 16 years as a resident of Sunset.

Mum was a well known waitress and had a large following of customers throughout her years of waitressing. After retiring in 2005, Mum could be found spending hours a day in her award winning garden, knitting baby clothes in the winter, devoting her time to her grand-children, great-grandchildren and her occasional trips to Wendover.

Jean is survived by her sister, Joan Champion, daughters, Vicky (Wesley) Kahlandt, Sally (William) Tews, Suzanne Catalini (Walter Bogdan) Grand-children, Samantha, Brittany, Shawn, Danielle, Derrick, and Alissa.  Great grand-children, Madison, Matthew, Dalton, Mason, and Corbin as well as her beloved Daisy.

Preceded in death by her parents, sister Stella, brother Ronnie, and her husbands, Barry, Tim and Ross.

Family and friends may gather Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 No. Fairfield Rd.
