Jeannette Alta Scott Ray passed away without pain, surrounded by the reflection of the love she gave.
Words fail to communicate the impact this sweet, feisty, bossy, loving, independent woman had on us all. She loved, tried, failed, succeeded, and kept going‒she was a real, three-dimensional person that has left an unfillable void in our lives‒we'll do our best to honor what she taught us.
After raising her kids, she lived her dream and became an R.N.‒we're still so proud of her and the compassion she shared with the world. The man who loves her more than life itself‒and tirelessly cared for her for years,‒three siblings, six children, 22 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren and one on the way are thankful that her suffering is at an end and that they were honored recipients of her love, lessons, candy, and witty comebacks.
Although we can't hug her anymore, she'll always be with us as we try to share the love she gave us and overcome the stubbornness she gifted to her progeny. She taught us how to give and receive forgiveness, strive to be humble, cook for more people than is expected, and love every person that walks through the door, no matter the path that brought them there.
Although she was proud of all her kids, Metta particularly devoted years of time, energy, patience, and compassion to make her comfortable at home where she wanted to be‒your mom and everyone who loved her will be eternally grateful.
