Janet Turner, 66, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on December 23, 2025.
Janet was born on January 11, 1959, to Nola and Melvin Warner in Ogden, Utah where she was raised with her three sisters and brother, her first and best friends. She spent some of her happiest childhood days with her grandparents, Cecil and Fern Warner visiting their farm in Deseret where she grew an especially close bond with Grandma Fern.
Janet graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1977. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings that served as a springboard for numerous friendships. She served as a missionary in the Japan, Yokohama Mission. She loved the people and culture of Japan and shared that with her family.
Brad and Janet Turner met at Stop and Shop. They married in 1982 in the Jordan River Temple and lived for many years in Ogden and North Ogden. Brad and Janet enjoyed 43 years of companionship in which they were able to travel to many places with their family and enjoy each other through life’s ups and downs.
Janet worked for many years as a secretary for Weber School District. She loved working with students, teachers, and administrators and they adored her as well. She enjoyed a rich social life and gained many lifelong friendships through her work, school, church, and neighborhood. She enjoyed a bond with a women’s gospel study group she organized. Her philosophy was, “You can never have too many friends.”
Janet and Brad had four daughters who brought much delight to their life together, 10 grandchildren and several granddogs. Spending time with and around her children and grandchildren along with quiet moments with Brad, were what made her life worth living - especially through the challenging ending years of disease management.
We will always think of Janet when we go to the movies, visit the mountains or St. George, drink Diet Coke or see snowmen decorations, for these were things she loved.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, Brad; daughters, Amy (Ricardo) Curletto, Megan (Adam) Jensen, Becky (Joe) Montoya, and Makynzie (Brady) Larsen; as well as 10 beautiful grandchildren who were, to the end, the joy of her life, Allie Curletto, Hannah Curletto, Lucy Curletto, Eleanor Curletto, Rose Curletto, Oliver Montoya, Hudson Montoya, Roma Montoya, Nolin Larsen and Liam Larsen; sisters, Liz (Roger) Read, Margene (Rex) Ahlmer, and Annette (Kirt) Lewis; and sister-in-law, Jeaneen Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Glen and her niece, Lindsay.
