Janet Ann Green Stapley passed from this mortal existence and into the arms of her eternal companion on October 5, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Jan was born in Ogden, Utah on September 17, 1937 to Wallace James Green and Clarice Shaw Green.
She and her two brothers, Keith & Dale, along with her sister, Renae, were raised by their devoted father. He taught them to be independent and instilled a strong work ethic. Jan adored her father, whom she lovingly referred to as Pappy Green. She never stopped talking about him in all of her 88 years on earth.
Jan worked at Hill Field as a computer programmer for 33 years. She made many lifelong friends there, including the love of her life, Hal Spencer Stapley, to whom she married, they were later sealed in the temple.
An active lifestyle was always a priority for Jan and she enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, and golfing in Star Valley and as part of the Women's Association at Riverside Golf Course for many years. She cherished her many friends and they meant the world to her.
Jan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Her favorite calling was serving at the hospital with Hal. They served on the religious care committee and provided Sunday sacrament services and spread cheer to patients throughout the hospital.
Jan is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Ron) Rowe and Jana (David) Sneddon, as well as many step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband Hal, her parents Wallace and Clarice Green, and her brothers and sister.
As per Jan’s wishes a graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Uintah Cemetery, 6450 South 1500 East.
