Janet "Jan" Marsh

Janet Johnson Marsh, age 79, sadly passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at home with her children gathered around her. She was born on May 3, 1944 in Heber City, Utah to her parents, Olaus Johnson and Florence Moon Johnson. She was sealed to Stephen Douglas Marsh on November 25, 1964 in the Salt Lake City Temple and was married for 33 years. Together they had eight children.

Jan graduated from high school in Rangely, Colorado and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from BYU. She had a rewarding career working as an RN at the VA Hospital in Los Angeles, CA and as the newborn baby clinical educator and clinic manager at the Merrill Gappmayer Family Medicine Center in Provo Utah.

Jan was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church assignments in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations. She also served a Family History Service Mission in SLC.

Her talents and hobbies included playing the piano, sewing, paper and wood crafts, and caring for a variety of plants. But in all the world, she loved being a mother and grandmother the most. Her children are Damon & Sherie, Joseph & Keiko, Bryan & Michelle, Amy & Howard Dover, Ruth & Bruce Palmer, Aleen (Beesley), Ethan, and Emily & Hyrum Alatriste. Additionally, 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren will cherish her memory.

She leaves behind a loving community in the Riverside Ward in Plain City, Utah.

All are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at the Riverside Ward Chapel, 4574 West 2125 North, Plain City. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
