At 3 a.m. April 3, 2026 Earth loosed its grip on our kind and loving North-Star, releasing his soul to pursue longer roads and brighter vistas in his eternal windshield.
Stan Hall, 82, passed peacefully, a few days after a fall.
Stan was born in July 1943 in Texas, oldest child of a WWII active-duty father, Jim and loving mother June. He was raised as a farm boy in Boise Valley Idaho, and later lived in McCammon Idaho. He was big brother to one sister, Betty, and two brothers, Keith and Dean. He served an LDS mission to Brazil where he developed a love for the Portuguese language.
He and his 60-year-long companion, Jeni, met just prior to his mission, and were married 3 years later, in 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He and Jeni are the parents of 7 children, the grandparents of 6 and great-grandparents of 1.
They raised their children in Layton and West Point Utah.
Stan graduated from Weber State College with a degree in Journalism and Chemistry and worked as a technical writer for many years. Later in life he found a love for the open road, driving long-haul semi-trucks for several years before retiring.
Stan was an avid reader, often having 4 or 5 books going on at a time. He was a world-class putterer and tinkerer using his spare time to build, fix, tweak and stomp many projects over the years. He had a deep love of animals, having cared for cows, horses, chickens, sheep and dogs, with his dog-kids Duncan and Daisy having been very important to him.
Stan was an active member of the LDS church, having held many callings, including Bishop.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest daughter, Abby.
Stan was an influence for good and an example of patience, thoughtfulness and kindness to all who had the fortune to be in his sphere.
