James Larry Justensen of West Point, Utah, passed away on February 16, 2026, surrounded by members of his family. Born March 10, 1937, to Arthur and Elenora Justensen in Salt Lake City.
He married Dorothy Kay Tucker on November 18,1955. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Larry is survived by his 7 children and spouses, Scott (Michael), Doug (Laurie), Brad (Carolyn), Brent (Julie), Troy (Shelley), Melinda (Ben), Clayton (Krista). 30 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents Arthur and Elnora, 4 grandchildren, Kent, Taylor, Ava and Stephen.
Dad had many jobs, driving truck for Montana Brand Produce with his brother-in-law Max Bryden, P.I.E., working at the Co-oP, Conoco Gas Station, framing houses with his brother-in-law Grant Hermansen, and Davis School District as a mechanic and carpenter from which he retired.
Dad worked hard to support his family by doing side jobs after work-cement work and plastering foundations.
He definitely taught his children how to work hard.
Dad had many hobbies-he loved to trap shoot, hunt, fish and camp. He especially loved to hunt and fish with his grandkids and great grandkids.
We were rarely home on the weekends.
He loved to go to the Ogden Gun Clubs Wednesday nights and shoot with his best friend Sherm Cloward. Around Thanksgiving those two would get together and go to turkey shoots. They were feared among other trap shooters, they won a lot of turkeys.
Dad loved to do things with his sisters, Ora and Helen. Many trips to the ranch with the Hermansen’s and lots of hunting and fishing trips with the Draney’s.
Dad will be missed greatly but we know he is now happy to be with mom again.
Thanks to all who have helped take care of him during his last days.
