Jacquelyn "Jackie" Gritton

Deon Jacquelyn Gritton (Jackie) passed away on 30 November, 2022.   Jackie was born on 19 September, 1933 to James Peter and Cora Nielsen.  She grew up with three sisters, Vonza (deceased), Carol (deceased) and Bonnie.  Jackie was married to and later divorced John “Dee” Gritton. 

 She attended Granite High School and made many life-long friends in her high-school, “gang.”  The gang took many trips together and met monthly for an evening of dinner and fun.  Jackie particularly enjoyed weekly card-game get-togethers with “Babcocks” who were also members of the, “gang.”

Health issues took Jackie’s mobility from her in her later years, but nothing dampened her love for her sisters, family and friends, and nothing could dim her beautiful smile or lessen her great sense of humor.

Jackie is survived by her three sons; Steven (Inga), Kenneth (Dana) and Lance (Melody), as well as her sister (Bonnie Graber), ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and even a few great-great-grandchildren.

Jackie spent her final few years as a resident of Saint Joesph’s Villa.  Her family expresses thanks to the staff at St. Joeseph’s Villa for their kind and thoughtful care of Jackie.
