Jacqueline Chapman Brakey died February 9th, 2026, in the Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful, UT, next to her eternal companion. Jackie died after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born on December 4, 1971, to Jerry and Karen Chapman at Cedar City Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond. Her parents, Jerry and Karen. Her 4 sisters, Aubry, Katherine (Nathias), Stephanie (Tony), and Elise. Her 4 children, Benjamin (Drew), Maddisen, Cody, and Paige. And her granddaughter, Lainey.
She grew up in Parowan, Duchesne, and Roosevelt, Utah. She was known as a little girl to say exactly what was on her mind; you never knew what would come out of her mouth. She graduated from Taylorsville high. She eventually went on to attend the University of Utah for a few years. She attended a singles ward in Taylorsville, where she met her husband. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake, Utah, temple on April 2nd, 1997.
Jackie always supported her kids in anything they wanted to do; she was often a team mom, and she never missed an event. From basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, baseball games to choir concerts to musicals. She loved to take trips with her family, especially to Disneyland and the Oregon coast. She loved to read since she was a little girl. She always loved to sing and play the piano. She imbued that love of singing in all 4 of her kids, piano not so much. She was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, where she served in many capacities. Her favorite calling was the pianist in the primary.
Jackie was always known for her determined attitude; she was a fighter, and for always having a diet coke in hand. She will be missed and remembered as a loving wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend.
There will be an open house from 5-8pm on Friday, February 20th. And a funeral service at 10am on Saturday, Feb 21st. at the LDS Church located at 2150 800 E St, Clearfield, UT 84015.
Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary.
