Jack "W" Walker

Jack "W" Walker, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2011. He was born on July 28, 1926 in Afton, Wyoming to Walter P. and Grace D. Izatt Walker.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He married the love of his life, Leora Wilkerson "Ladybug" on July 25, 1952. They were able to spend 59 wonderful years together.

Jack enjoyed spending time with his family. They had many wonderful times bowling, miniature golfing, camping, and hunting. They also enjoyed fly-fishing together in Star Valley, Wyoming. Jack spent hours reading a good book.

Dad was a great craftsman. Wood became art to his touch. He loved to create with his hands.

Jack was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully as a Bishop, Stake President and in many other callings. He loved working with the youth. Jack had the opportunity to serve in the San Antonio, Texas Mission.

He is survived by his wife, Leora of Riverdale; son, Rocky (Debbie) Walker of Leesburg, Virginia; daughters, Vicki (Daniel) Nutt, South Ogden; Paula (Troy) Bailey, Spanaway, Washington; and Wendy Walker and (finance Kim Cheshire), Riverdale, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Betty, Sharon, and Lennis, and we can''t forget his beloved Pug, Tootsie, AKA "Digger Odelle".

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at CNS Hospice for their wonderful care of Jack.

In lieu of flowers, Jack requested donations be made to the LDS Church Ward Missionary Fund.
