Listen to Obituary

Jack Duke Searle, 76, of Manila, Utah passed away at his home on November 15, 2025.

Jack was born May 4, 1949 in Vernal Utah to Lester J and Grace Duke Searle. He is the youngest of 8 siblings. Jack proudly served in the Army with distinction and a deep love for freedom. After serving in the army, he spent many years driving truck.

He loved fishing, hunting, building things, woodwork, looking for fossils, and sharing with others. He spent a lot of time in the mountains and loved cutting and chopping wood. He not only loved heating his home with fires but often gave firewood to others. While woodworking, he created tables, chairs, log bed frames, cutting boards and many other items. He put many hours of love into these projects.

Jack had a strong and steady relationship with Jesus Christ. One of his favorite scriptures was Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse guided him through the many health challenges and struggles he faced during his life. He often visited not only the LDS church of which he was a member, but other denominations as well.

Jack is survived by his children Dustin Searle, JaiDe Searle, Brian Searle, Kelly Schulte and Grace Searle, as well as several cute grandsons! He is also survived by his sister Loa Chantland, with whom he shared the same birthday, eleven years apart. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Carl Searle, Nyla Short, Bonnie Jensen, Max Searle, Erla Peterson, and Rex Searle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lindquist’s Community Center, 3434 Washington Blvd.,Ogden, Utah on December 13, 2025 beginning at noon with Military Honors.
