Jack Lemoin Bobo

March 26, 1935 — August 12, 2025

Jack L. Bobo, 90, a long-time resident of Farmington, Utah, passed away of natural causes early on the morning of August 12, 2025, at Legacy House of Farmington.

Born March 26, 1935, in Allen, Oklahoma, Jack was the son of Wayne T. and Faye Ollie Dendy Bobo.

When Dad was just 12 years old, he started jockeying racehorses. He was a small boy, but had remarkable upper body strength, and his skills were sought-after at the racetrack. Dad loved the excitement and earning his own wages until he eventually outgrew the weight limits and had to give it up. While he had the educational credits to graduate, Dad chose to leave high school six months early to enlist in the United States Navy. He served honorably during the Korean War.

After his service, Dad settled in Borger, Texas where he met our mom, Joyce Alena Cole. Together they had five children, Denise, Pamela, Jacky, Annette, and John. Following the demands of mining work, the family traveled from Texas to New Mexico and Southern Utah, eventually making their home in Kaysville. Dad continued his education and was trained as an Aircraft Instrument Repairman where he worked at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, for many years.

Dad and mom divorced, and he later married Colleen Roundy Weaver, and they raised their families together in Kaysville. Colleen passed away on November 5, 1987, at the young age of 56. Dad did not remarry, but he dedicated his time to serving his family and community. He was a man of many talents, pursuing a variety of careers over the course of his life, but one of his greatest joys was serving in the Holy Temple. A devoted member of his community and a faithful convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dad embraced numerous callings within his church. He shared his gifts generously - whether through service, friendship, or his voice by singing with the church choir, bringing joy to all who knew him.

Dad had a love of reading, constantly expanding his knowledge across a wide range of subjects. He found joy in the outdoors, tending to his garden, and sharing his passion for horses with his daughter and granddaughters. Dad will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his commitment to his faith, and his firm – yet good-natured – reminder that there was to be “no foolishness”. Those who knew him best understood that behind that no-nonsense approach was a generous heart and a life devoted to what mattered most.

Dad is survived by his children, Denise (Wayne) Carlos, Pamela (Chris) Christensen, Jacky (Cindy) Bobo, Annette (Roger) Howard, and John Bobo; his brother, Denny (Linda) Iker; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Colleen, Dad was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Wayne Bobo who died in the 1963 potash mine explosion in Moab, Utah.

Special thanks to his dear friends and the staff at Legacy House, for their friendship and kindness during the years he lived there. The family would also like to thank Trevor and Caigen with Symbii Hospice for their compassion and outstanding care.
