Iva Albrecht was born on February 17, 1965, in Cedar City, Utah, to her parents Connie and Ronald Long. She lived a life defined by love, service, and devotion. She passed away January 19, 2026, surrounded by her family who loves and adores her, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through generations. Iva was a nurse for many years, serving as a NICU nurse—a role that perfectly reflected who she was at her core. She cared for the most fragile lives with patience, gentleness, skill, and compassion necessary. For countless families, Iva was a calm presence during moments of fear and uncertainty. Nursing was not just her profession; it was her calling. She was married to the love of her life, Barry Albrecht, on May 5, 1986. They shared nearly 40 years of marriage built on commitment, faith, and deep, enduring love. In later years, Barry became Iva’s caregiver, caring for her with unwavering devotion and tenderness. Their marriage was a true partnership—one marked by sacrifice, loyalty, gracefulness, and love. Iva was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith guided her life, shaped her compassion, and gave her strength through both joy and hardship. She lived her beliefs quietly but fully, through service to others and love for her family. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. She was perfect in every role. She gave nothing but love and adoration.
Iva is survived by her loving husband, Barry; her two daughters, Elizabeth and Danielle; her son, Chad; and her cherished grandchildren, and their respective spouses, who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald; and her father-in-law, Craig. To her children, she was perfect. Not because life was always easy, but because her love was constant. She was nurturing, strong, and selfless. She showed what it meant to give fully of yourself—to your family, your work, and your faith. The lessons she taught, the comfort she gave, and the love she poured out will never fade. Iva had a presence that made people feel safe. She was steady, kind, and deeply caring. If you knew her, you felt her goodness. If you loved her, you were changed by her. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is no longer experiencing any physical pain. We look forward to the day we will be reunited with her again.
