Isabelino "Ike" Rodriguez Veguilla

November 19, 1932 — March 24, 2023

The Lord called his faithful son Isabelino “Ike” Rodriguez Veguilla home to rest in Heaven’s kingdom on Friday, March 24, 2023.  He joins his grandson Ronny Hawkins, sister-in-law Sharon Ramos, his in-laws, and parents.

Ike was born November 19, 1932 in Cayey, Puerto Rico to Asuncion Rodriguez and Gerardo Veguilla.  He was the 3rd from youngest child out of 10 siblings. He immigrated to the United States as a young man who spoke broken English and worked as an airplane mechanic for years till he retired from Hill Air Force Base.

As a young man fell in love with his beautiful wife Delores and they wed on March 1, 1969. They raised four children, Dee (Maria) Hawkins, Scott (Billie) Hawkins, Lynn Hawkins, and Michelle Donica.  He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Melinda (Ryan) Andersen, Michael Martinez, Jennifer Bravo, Jana (Dave) Richards, Jessie (Theresa) Hawkins, Carson Hawkins, Jessica Leon (Jeffrey Robinson), and Marty (Shelby) Hawkins.  Ike had 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, nephews, and nieces, Melanie (Tim) Dalton.

Ike was a faithful Christian, devoted husband, a patient father, and a kind loving grandfather. Ike was loved by all who knew him. His faith and family were the most precious things to him. He lived a humble life giving so much of his time, money, and resources to helping those less fortunate than himself. Ike loved to dance and won many trophies with his loving wife burning up the ballroom dance floor. He enjoyed singing to anyone who would listen to his stunning vocals. He liked traveling with his wife hauling her special rocks cross country, they were snowbirds traveling from Ogden, UT to Yuma, AZ twice a year to avoid the cold weather.  He was a thrifty man who would shop for a bargain and loved tinkering and fixing anything he could. Ike was a health enthusiast who ate very nutritiously and exercised regularly. He was passionate about sharing the word of God and his passions with his family and friends.

He will forever be remembered and loved by all who knew him.
