Irleen Ward Eddington

Irleen Ward Eddington, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2014. She was born on July 6, 1932 in Brigham City, Utah to Irl Bryan and Elizabeth Roskelley Ward. Irleen grew up in Willard and later moved to Clearfield where she graduated from Davis High School in 1950. She graduated from Weber State in 1952 and Utah State in 1954 with a BS Degree in Home Economics and Teaching.
She married Marshall Dalling Eddington on August 16, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Marshall passed away on March 21, 1981, just short of 18 years of marriage.
Irleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in Relief Society, Primary and MIA. She enjoyed being a ward chorister, and serving a mission in Uruguay.
She was a Daughter of Utah Pioneers. Irleen loved quilting, embroidering, and singing.
Irleen is survived by her son, Mike “Rick” Eddington, Salt Lake City; daughter, Sandra L. Dixon, Chino Hills, CA; and 2 grandchildren, Monica B.R. Dixon and LaTrail L. Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, by her brother, Jay Ray Ward, sisters, Doris W. Elmer and Francis Done Crosbie; and by her son-in-law, Robert L. Dixon.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Willard City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
The family thanks Quality Home Health & Hospice Services, especially Chelsea, Alexis, and Dr. MacPherson, and also “Kristen” for the care you all gave our mother.
