Irene Louise Winger Smith

July 19, 1938 –May 9, 2016

Irene Louise Winger Smith passed away peacefully at her home in Centerville, Utah on May 9, 2016.

She was born July 19, 1938 to Elmer Oscar Winger and Pearl Nellie Underwood in Claypool, AZ.  Irene grew up in Southern California and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life.  Her faith and love for the Lord was exemplified through her desire to serve others.  She spent her life surrounded by her family, and caring for them brought her the greatest joy in life.

She is survived by her sister Carol Venuti, her brother Dale Winger(Susie), her children Marci Thueson (Kevin), Jeffrey Smith, Allison Morgan (Jim), Camille Campbell (Kenneth), Emily Thueson (Travis) Matthew Smith (Erin), Andrew Smith (Amber), and Rachael Ford.  She has 28 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Pearl, her sister Jennifer, and her daughter Stacey.

A small graveside service will be held at the Salem, Utah Cemetery, for the immediate family on Saturday, May 14, 2016 under the directions of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the LDS Missionary Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
