Ida June Call, 94, a life-time resident of Pleasant View, passed away peacefully at Avamere at Mountain Ridge in South Ogden early the morning of March 20, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family.
June was the third of six children born to Clarence William and Ila Gladys Walton Summers. She was born in Evanston, Wyoming but raised primarily in Pleasant View. She graduated from Weber High School, Class of 1949.
Following her graduation, she found the love of her life, Glen Louis Call, at the RJ White Inc. mill, where they were working at the time. After courting, they were married on February 23, 1950. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on June 21, 1955.
At the time of Glen’s passing in May of 2016, they had recently celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Although June was primarily a mother and homemaker, she also worked for about 10 years for Heiner’s Insurance Company as an agent. She considered her greatest calling in life to be that of a mother.
She loved to crochet and quilt and made many beautiful blankets for family and friends. She also liked gardening, canning, and traveling with Glen up to the farmers’ market in Park City where they sold fruits and vegetables.
A faithful member of The Church, June enjoyed serving in the primary and as a den mother with the Cub Scouts. June loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and had a strong testimony of the Restoration, which she bore often to her family.
June is survived by her children, Randy (Janet) Call, Tremonton; RaeLynn (Larry) Anderton, West Jordan; Louis (Denise) Call, Hooper; Janice (Randy) Venable, North Ogden; Linda Selman, Salt Lake City; Teresa (Blaine) Mecham, Morgan; Kelly Call, Phoenix, Arizona; Heidi (Kris) Kohli, Plain City; 28 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
June was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Maxine DeCarlo, Gayleen Bush, and Kathryn Williams; and by her grandson, Nathan Call.
The family would like to thank the staff of Avamere at Mountain Ridge for their loving care of Mom. She loved them and they loved her. Special recognition goes to her hospice nurse, JaDee, whom she considered an adopted daughter.
