Listen to Obituary

Hunter James Haskell was a special gift, born on October 21, 2014. He went home to be with Jesus at age ten on September 18, 2025. He was a shining light to everyone who knew him. He loved to talk with anyone he crossed paths with and almost always had at least one joke to share.

He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor when he was two years old, but this didn’t stop him from living life to the fullest. Every day was a good day for Hunter. He never complained and was always positive and encouraging. He made the best of countless surgeries and hospital stays, often singing and telling jokes to anyone who would listen. He loved every opportunity he had to attend school and was blessed with the most caring staff and school friends. He enjoyed anything with wheels, as well as jet skis and boats. At four years old, he was given a boat through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and enjoyed every minute spent with his family on the lake.

Hunter often brightened days by giving the best hugs, asking, “How’s your day?” or saying, “You look so beautiful!” He loved Jesus and often sang and talked about Him. One day, he told his nurse that he was excited. When she asked him why, he replied, “Jesus!” She asked what about Jesus, and he said, “He washed away my sins!” We are so thankful Hunter knew Jesus, and because of that, we are comforted knowing we will see him again one day soon.

Hunter was deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his loving parents, Timothy and Julia (Burtt) Haskell; his adoring siblings, Brielle, Logan, and Cody; his grandparents; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and everyone who knew him. Please email us at hunterjheroes@gmail.com anytime you would like to share a memory or picture with us. We would love to know when he is being remembered.
