Helen Elizabeth Wainwright

Helen Elizabeth Wainwright, age 103, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was born in Ogden, Utah, on October 16, 1921, the daughter of Orville and Margaret Moyes Rupe. Helen was raised and lived in Ogden her entire life, attending Ogden City Schools and graduating from high school there.

She married Henry “Eddie” James in 1940, and they shared 28 years of marriage before his passing. In 1970, Helen married Thomas V. Wainwright, with whom she spent 54 cherished years until his death in 2011.

Helen was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She found great joy in gardening and crocheting but cherished time with her family above all.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Davis; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie and Thomas and daughter, Patricia Rock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment will follow at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
