Heber Charles Davison, Jr.

May 22, 1920 ~ May 7, 2016

Our beloved Daddy, Heber Charles Davison, Jr. returned to his sweetheart Lila, the love of his life, and the arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 7, 2016.  He was born on May 22, 1920 in Ogden, Utah, to Heber Charles, Sr. and Virginia Richmond Bapty Davison.  One of six children, a twin and the only boy, he grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School’s first graduating class in 1938.  “Bud” was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and was a lifelong resident of Ogden.

During World War II, he served under General Patton’s command in the 974th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theatre.  Upon his return he married Lila LaDean Taylor on September 14, 1946 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.  He considered marrying his lovely Lila and raising their seven children together to be his greatest accomplishment.  Lila passed away on February 15, 2005.

Heber was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He was also a member of the Ogden Elks Lodge.

Heber enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, boating, and bowling, but most of all spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Heber is survived by his children, Michael Dennis (Joyce) Davison, Roy; Joy (Ferrell) French, Centerville; Dan (Janice) Davison, Poquoson, VA; Sherry (Carl) Muirbrook, Turlock, CA; Shelia (Scott) Hadley, Pleasant View; Paula (Joe) Chavez, San Diego, CA; and John (Leslee) Davison, South Ogden;  32 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Nimah Olson, Ogden.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lila; by his grandson, Steven; and by his sisters, Zelma, LaRae, June, Harriett, and Lucille.
