Hazel Lenora Skeem Babbitt, 85, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 in the comfort of her own home.
She graduated from Stevens-Henagar College as a secretary.
On November 7, 1959, Hazel married Rex Lowary Babbitt in the Manti Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and her favorite was a visiting teacher. She enjoyed being a member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers for many years.
Hazel loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She loved to garden, knit, travel, quilt, cook and study history. She started doing genealogy as a youth and was the family genealogist for many years. She loved the beauty of the desert.
Hazel is survived by her kids, Steve and Kelly Babbitt, Medford, OR; Kathy Babbitt, Hooper; Elizabeth Turner, Roy; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Reed Skeem, Grantsville; brothers-in-law, Joe, John, Gary and sisters-in-law, Irene, Shirley and Susan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rex, brothers, Jerald, Fred and sister, Kathleen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
