Harold Edward Rogers, 82, died on Monday, May 14, 2007, surrounded by love as he passed from this life in Layton, Utah, due to an extended illness.

He was born to Vernie and Mary Osborn Rogers on December 20, 1924, in Wayne City, Illinois. Harold was raised on the family farm in Wayne City, Illinois. He graduated from Wayne City High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Concord. Harold attended Weber State College and received a certificate as an Electronics Technician in 1969. He worked as an electrician and supervisor at Hill Air Force Base for 22 years before retiring in 1986.

He married Marjorie Lowery on June 28, 1949 in Morganfield, Kentucky. They had four daughters together. They were later divorced. He married Helen Robertson on December 26, 1986 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She died in August 2005.

He loved being with his family, traveling, fishing, reading the scriptures, and being outdoors. He was an excellent handyman and could fix anything from engines to toasters. He repaired televisions and radios as a hobby. Although he faced many difficulties in his later years, he never lost his great sense of humor. Harold was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving ''Sis" Doris McGinnis, whom he adored, his brother-in-law Oscar McGinnis, his niece Elaine Nelson, and his four daughters, Darline Daley, Marilyn Rogers, Linda Rogers, and Sheree Lupton. Survived also by 6 grandchildren, Amber, April, Garth, Cade, Shawn, and Michelle; 3 great grandchildren, Kevin, Vivian, and Vanessa; 1 great nephew, Craig, and 1 great-great nephew, Arron. Sincere thanks to Harold''s loving family of caregivers Shari, Jason, Pam, McKinley, and Kaylee over the past few years, who enabled him to remain in a home environment and who gave him many gifts of their love and time while living in the moment with laughter and joy. Services will be held at Hughey Funeral Home on Saturday, May 19th at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
