Guyla Grant Olsen

Guyla Grant Olsen, 86, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Bountiful, Utah. Born November 9, 1924 in Honeyville, Utah to Guy & Dyantha Byington Grant. Served as a US Navy aircraft mechanic during WWII. Married H. Max Olsen in 1947. Lived mostly in the SL area until moving in 1970 to Ingleside, Texas to own & operate a marina. Later moved to Fulton, Texas to own & operate a restaurant. Max died in 1985. She later operated a taxi business with her partner Ray Smith, who died in 1992. Health issues forced her retirement & move to Bountiful in 2000. Guyla always provided help to anyone in need.

Survived by her children Louise (Tim) Tate, Douglas Olsen, Richard (Sally) Olsen & Nancy (Jim) Hall; sister, Jane Workman; 6 grandchildren & 8.9 great-grandchildren. Preceding her are her parents, son Darrel Olsen (twin to Douglas), grandson, Paul Daniel Tate, sisters Annie Thompson & Leal Peterson, brothers Ernie Grant & Frank Grant.
