Grace Verna (Klein) Jensen

June 12, 1937 — February 1, 2023

Bountiful

Grace Verna Klein Jensen age 85 died February 1, 2023 due to causes incident with age.  Gracie was born on June 12, 1937 to Albert Leopold Klein and Verna Brown Klein.  She was taught in her youth that she was being watched over by her Heavenly Father and Savior.  Throughout her life she cherished her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She was raised in a musical family.  She enjoyed attending the concerts her father played in.  Upon graduation she worked as a private secretary for the Union Pacific Railroad.  She married the love of her life, Orson Noel Jensen, on June 12, 1956, in the Salt Lake Temple.  They were blessed to enjoy a 54-year marriage that was happy, and they were inseparable.

Being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother brought her joy and fulfillment.  She was blessed with five children – Monica (Steve) Call, Maureen (Joseph) Pinegar, Sterling (Carol), Craig (Jodi), Eric (Holly).  Time spent with her 12 grandchildren as they grew up was the closest thing to heaven.  Her posterity also includes 5 great grandchildren.  She was also a foster mother to Kim, Chris, Raymond, and Weldon.

Gracie began playing the piano at age seven.  At the age of fifteen she began playing the organ and piano at church, funerals, and wedding receptions.  She was blessed by an influential mentor in Sterling Wheelwright, who inspired in her a love for the majesty and versatility of organ music.  She served in the Bountiful Temple for fifteen years as an organist.

Gracie enjoyed working on family history and was able to extend the lines of many of her ancestors.  She was able to visit the lands of their birth and learn more about their lives and heritage.  She was faithful in striving to live a life worthy of the blessings she had received from her ancestors.  Her life was enriched in being with family and friends, walking throughout Bountiful, being in the mountains, and enjoying the companionship of her three calico cats.  Throughout the years she and Noel enjoyed a special and endearing relationship with Carolyn and Richard Nuttall.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Noel, daughter Maureen and her siblings Albert, Melvin, Carol, and Reed.
