Gloria Mae Ackerman Wadman
Gloria Mae Ackerman Wadman, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 8, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Carl George and Mary Irene Nelson Ackerman. She attended Salt Lake City schools and graduated from South High School. She married Leonard Archie Wadman on January 8, 1954 in Salt Lake City. They moved to Sunset in 1958. Leonard passed away in 1983.
She worked at the Defense Depot of Ogden and retired in 1993. After retiring, she volunteered at Davis Hospital where she served as Chairperson of the Junior Volunteers. Gloria was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her calling as a Primary Teacher in the Sunset Ward. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life.
Gloria is survived by her son, Leonard "Butch" Wadman, Sunset; daughters, Mary Nielsen (Bill) Hughes, Sunset; Cindy Coy, Roy; Sandi Stucki, Taylor, and Dometria Watchman Craig, Layton; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Ackerman, Salt Lake City; and sisters, Gladys (Ray) Stoker, Wanship and Joyce (Don) Chinn, West Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Lamar; granddaughter, Jessica Stucki; beloved son-in-law, Kerry Neilsen; 4 sisters; brother; and brother-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Sunset First Ward, 2431 North 250 West. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
