Gloria Skanchy

Gloria Skanchy, beloved mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2024, at her home in Ogden, Utah. Born on March 22, 1957, to Lucille Chlarson and Boyd Wennergren, Gloria lived a life rich in love, devotion, and service.

Gloria leaves behind a legacy of love and service, survived by her two children, Andrew Dean Skanchy (Siearra Skanchy) and Jaclyn Stuart (Josh Stuart), whom she cherished beyond measure. She was the MVP grandmother to her five adoring grandchildren, Ava, Hadley, Beck, Max, and Jossi, who brought boundless joy and laughter into her life.

Throughout her remarkable 66 years, Gloria touched the lives of many as an educator for over four decades, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of countless people. Her passion was to help as many people as she could.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gloria found solace and strength in her faith, guiding her through life's trials with grace and resilience. She was a true example of Christ's love and selflessness.

Though Gloria's unexpected departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories shared and the lives she influenced. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Elaine Chlarson; sister, Sheila Thurston, and brothers, John Wennergren (Natalie Wennergren) and David Wennergren. She was preceded by her father, Emil Boyd Wennergren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Monday, February 5^th at 11 a.m. at the Logan City Cemetery.
