Glenna Jaques Williams

Glenna Jaques Williams passed away peacefully at her home, on January 19, 2024 at the age of 93.

Glenna was born on Dec 7^th 1930 in Layton Utah to Sylvia Hanney Jaques and Glen Willis Jaques.   She was raised in Layton with her three sisters and attended Davis County schools.

She married in 1949 and was blessed with 2 children but later divorced.

On Oct 2, 1954, she married Ned W Williams in Pocatello Idaho, and together would be blessed with 4 more children. They lived and raised their family in East Layton surrounded by family, with the mountains as their back yard

Glenna was a working mother and took pride in her work and made lifelong friendships along the way.   She was an avid Utah Jazz fan, she loved to read, she loved music (especially George Straight) she loved traveling, she loved laughter, she could be happy in a crowd or alone, she truly knew how to stop and smell the roses.

She was kind, beautiful and loved by so many. Sometimes the grandkids tenderly referred to her as the chicken grandma and if you’ve been by the house, you know she loved wind chimes. We will truly feel the void of our sweet mother, her laugh, smile and so many other things.

Glenna is survived by 5 Kids, Rex (Leslie) Williams Layton, Pam Gailey Kaysville, Stan (Phamie) Williams Tremonton, Randy Williams Layton, Teresa Blanch Riverdale, daughter in-law Gwen Williams Vancouver BC.  19 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Granddaughters, her sisters Ilene and Barbara.

Preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, her son Jack N Williams, Grandson Ryon Nattress and her sister Shirley Byrd.

The family extends their gratitude to Kellie, mom’s favorite Hospice nurse.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Wednesday January 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
