Glenn Hill passed away on June 7, 2025, after a courageous fight against Merkel Cell Carcinoma.
He was born February 28, 1940, in Garland, Utah, the 13th of 16 brothers and sisters. They were known as the biggest family in Garland. He spent his youth on the family farm in Clearcreek up until the 6th Grade when would travel between Garland in the winter for school and back to the farm for the summer. He graduated from Bear River High in 1957, and went on to join the Utah National Guard for two years then joined the Army Reserves and continued to serve until 1965.
Glenn met, fell in love with, and married Shirley V. Morgan on June 11, 1960, at which time he said he inherited his daughter Mandy Fern whom he would later adopt. They went on to have another daughter, Michelle and two sons, Glenn and Jason. He went to work for Hercules in the Aerospace Division and settled in Sunset, Utah.
Glenn and Shirley would later divorce and a couple years later he met Linda L. Pritchard whom he fell in love with and married on March 15, 1992, they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on February 10, 2001. Once again, he inherited three more children, two sons and a daughter, Cory, Kelly, and Terilynn, whom he loved. He moved to Seattle Washington in 1992 with Linda and continued his career in the Aerospace Industry retiring from Northrup Grumman. After retirement they returned to Ogden, Utah.
Not being an idle person, he went back to work at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden after retirement as a Valet Parking Attendant. He loved his job greeting and meeting new people every day. He enjoyed it so much that once he retired again, he volunteered at the Valet desk for many years greeting and meeting new people, forming lasting friendships and hugs with co-workers and new friends. He would often say he had a wonderful life and if he was – quote “any better, I couldn’t stand myself”. Those who knew him also knew of his love for golf (even watching it on TV) so in addition to volunteering at the hospital he also volunteered at Round Valley Golf Course. Where he enjoyed the people and most of all golfing.
Glenn leaves behind four children, daughters, Mandy (Raun) Barker of Syracuse and Michelle Hill of South Ogden; sons, Glenn (Debbie) Hill of Clearfield and Jason (Lulu) Hill of Clearfield; two stepsons, Cory (Julie) Pritchard and Kelly (Heide) Pritchard and stepdaughter, Terilynn (Aaron) Simons all of Washington State. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a new great-granddaughter soon to arrive. In addition, his sister, Dorothy Thompson and too many to count nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two wives, Shirley and Linda; his grandson, Colin Pritchard; his parents, Joseph and Christina Hill; along with 14 of his brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Hyde Park Cemetery, Southeast Hyde Park, Hyde Park, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
