Glen Louis Call

November 20, 1926 ~ May 21, 2016

Glen Louis Call passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, May 21, 2016.  He was born on November 20, 1926 in West Ogden, Utah.

He served in the Navy during World War II in the Aleutian Islands.

Glen married the love of his life, Ida June Summers on February 23, 1950 in Ogden, Utah.  Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they have been married 66 wonderful years at the time of his death.

He worked hard as a truck driver for R. J. Wight to provide for his family.

Glen enjoyed wood working and fishing.  He was an artist and enjoyed painting.  Glen loved to garden and take his fruit and vegetables to the Farmer’s Market. The most important thing in Glen’s life was spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren and gave each one a special nickname.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions including Scout Master and was very involved in the scouting program.  He lived a life of service to others.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, June; children, Randy (Janet), Tremonton; RaeLynn (Larry) Anderton, West Jordan; Louis (Denise), Hooper; Janice (Randy) Venable, North Ogden; Linda Selman, Pleasant View; Teresa (Blaine) Mecham, Morgan; Kelly (Emmy) Phoenix, AZ; and Heidi (Kris) Kohli, Plain City; 29 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, brother, Robert Call, South Ogden; and sister, Betty Palmer, Washington Terrace.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Alice Miller; and 12 half siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View 8th Ward, 250 West Elberta Dr.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.  and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
