Geraldine Rachael Castillo

On March 9, 2012 our beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother Geraldine Rachael Castillo lost her courageous battle with a terminal illness. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on November 4, 1951 to Wilma and Fred Martinez Jr. She was a lifelong resident of Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1970.

Geraldine married Jose Castillo on November 20, 1983 and they had four children. She was an amazing mother and dedicated her life to taking care of her family.

She was an avid bingo player for several years, loved to crochet and had a special love for animals especially her "babies" Scooter and Honey.

Geraldine is survived by her husband, Jose Castillo of Ogden; her son, Lupe (Alishia) Castillo of Ogden; her daughters, April Martinez of Twin Falls, Misty Vigil of Ogden and Jacinda Scruggs of Ogden; 14 grandchildren that loved her very much and several aunts and uncles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and many loved ones.

We would like to give a special thanks to Vicky, her nurse, from IHC Hospice for her care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore; We did our best to the end, ''Til we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will Forget you Mother dear.
