GEORGE ROBERTSON Centerville-George Robertson, 84, passed away, Friday, April 20, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 14, 1923 in Lincoln, Nebraska the son of Hildegaard Ella Frieda Grauenhorst and Henry Obermeyer. The first three years of George’s life were spent in Lincoln, Nebraska, he then spent most of his life (60 years) in Long Beach, California. George also lived in Charleston, South Carolina, Kirkland, Washington and Kaysville, Utah. He spent the last five years of his life in Centerville. George married Kathryn Dillon Robertson on June 17, 1950 in Long Beach, California. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 21 years of service. He then worked as an office manager at Kaiser Gypsum Corporation and California Industrial Products. George was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to be near the ocean! He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed reading, traveling, music and live theater. George hated yard work, but he was a great handyman. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, two sons, Martin G.(WillaMae) Robertson of Charleston, SC and Kenneth Dillon (Cindy) of St. Augustine, FL, one daughter, Lawana Kay (Grant) Eggertsen, Centerville, UT, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Clifford Wayne Robertson of Canada. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Centerville Park Ward in the gray, Chase Lane building, 1125 North 400 West. Friends may call Wednesday, April 25, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, and Thursday, 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
