George Joel Haycock

G. Joel Haycock was born October 31, 1960, and passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2025, during emergency open heart surgery in Ogden, Utah.

Joel was a son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and great friend. He was the youngest child of Fern Henrie Haycock and H. Rees Haycock. He was born and raised in Ogden, UT. He graduated from Bonneville High School, then continued his education by attending business school in Salt Lake City. He also earned his Computer Science degree at Stevens–Henager College later in life.

Joel truly loved helping others and volunteered in his community often. He was especially passionate about tutoring the reading program in Weber County. His heart was huge and family was his priority. He was a hard worker and always committed to whatever he set his mind to. He was known for being charismatic, witty, tenderhearted, athletic, intelligent, and his love for music.

Joel is survived by his children, Brandi Haycock Harris, Josh Haycock, Jaren Haycock, and Jake Haycock. Survived by his soulmate, Kim Pritchard and her children, Jason (Brenna) Resendez, Shantel Leslie and Cassie (Victor) Rodriguez. Loving grandpa to his nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also leaves behind four canine “kids”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, John H. Haycock and JoAnn Haycock Hartzell.

You touched many hearts and will be deeply missed.

Friends may visit with family on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. A private graveside service will be held for the family.

A celebration of life and good memories of Joel for friends and family will be held on January 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. 4360 South Parker Drive, Riverdale 84405
