Geniel Van Dyke

1951 ~ 2022

K. Geniel Van Dyke, 71, passed away peacefully, and surrounded by her family on June 10, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Geniel was born in 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest daughter of Ellen and Willis Willardsen. She graduated from Skyline High School, and later the University of Utah.

Geniel married Greg Dilley in 1975, and had two children whom she adored. They later divorced, and she married her husband Scott Van Dyke, who passed away in 2013.

She is survived by her two children, Kendra (Joel) and Chad (Leandro); three grandchildren, Tayler, Gavin, Ziya; one great-grandchild, Kyro; two brothers, Robert (Phyllis), and Frank (Kay). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister (Diane).

In addition to spending time with family and friends, Geniel was passionate about exercise and spending time outside. She taught various aerobics and fitness classes for the majority of her life and had developed a dedicated following of people that enjoyed taking her classes. Geniel constantly had a smile on her face and was known for her ability to turn any situation into a positive experience. She loved traveling, golfing, hiking, animals (especially cats and horses), and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She touched so many lives with her generosity and happy demeanor.
