Gary Nelson Hicken

Gary Nelson Hicken passed away on September 10, 2023. He was born September 26, 1937 in Heber City, UT, son of Ernest Ray and Luella Nelson Hicken.

He married Joyce Lee Hoenstine and had two daughters.

Gary served in the United States Navy in the Philippines and retired from Hill Air Force Base in Layton, Utah.

He liked the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played pool and he also had his own barbershop.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Lee Ann Odekirk, (John Cutts) and Coleen (Jeff) Blake; two grandsons, Jason Blake and Preston Blake; and one great-grandson, Braxton Blake.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his grandson Cody Ray Odekirk, his parents and brother Hal Ray.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
