Garth W. Elison completed his earthly journey on June 15, 2023 in Bountiful, Utah. Garth was born March 26, 1929 in Blackfoot Idaho to Orson Stanley Elison and Maude Carson Elison. 

 

Garth attended school in the Blackfoot area and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He loved sports and played basketball in high school and later in life played on a city league baseball team.  As an adult he played church league softball, enjoyed water skiing, and riding.

Garth worked in different occupations including a milk truck driver, construction worker, bus driver, and a building inspector.  He especially loved horses and rodeos. He was a rodeo bull-dogger for many years and his horses ran in many races. 

 

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in various callings including a ward missionary, bishop, and temple worker.

 

Garth married Norma Haggard on August. 12, 1948 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They are the parents of five children; Ted, Susan, Sherry Lyn, Michael, and Michelle. Through these children, Garth went on to have 94 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

 

Norma passed away in 1996. Garth later married Connie {Barber}. Connie passed away in October of 2022.

 

Garth is survived by his daughter Susan Goodwin (Brent), his son Michael Elison (Cindy), and son, Jeffrey Gardner. He is preceded in death by his wife Norma, daughters Sherry Lyn and Michelle, his son Ted, one granddaughter, one grandson and one great grandson. He is also preceded in death by his third wife, Connie.
