Francis “Lamont” Theall passed away on August 22, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah. Lamont was born to Frank Theall and Vernessa Miller on February 3,1947 in Ogden, Utah. He enjoyed playing with his brothers and childhood friends and was always up for an adventure. Lamont graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State University.

On August 4, 1967, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathie (Bell) Theall. Together they created a strong and loving home in Ogden, Utah where they raised three amazing children and created a lifetime of memories.

Lamont retired from Utah Power & Light as Computer Systems Management and Disaster Recovery Supervisor for 33 years. During that same time, he retired from the Utah Army Reserves with 22 years of service.

Retirement did not slow him down and in 1996 he and his family opened their first Papa Murphy’s store and grew it into a successful chain of stores. He loved working with family, his employees and cherished the community they built. Lamont was a devoted seasoned ticket holder of the Utah Jazz for over 40 years. Going to the Jazz games was part of what being a "Theall" meant. Thanks Dad and Grandpa for sharing your love of the game!

Lamont instilled his family with a lifelong passion for living life to the fullest. He was our rock and above all, Lamont was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He served as an AYSO commissioner, coach and referee for many years and was fortunate enough to take a youth team to play in Germany for 3 weeks.

Lamont is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathie; children, Travis (Christy), Danielle (Nels) and Matthew; grandchildren, Gabriel and Abigail; his mother Vernessa Miller; siblings, Cary (Linda), Kent (Cindy). He is preceded in death by father, Frank, stepfather Don and Harold (Ruth) Bell.

Lamont loved his children more than anything else and taught them that there was so much joy in being together whether it was skiing, fishing, golfing or simply spending time in nature.

Lamont will be deeply missed and forever and always loved by his family.
