Janet Francine Wiggins passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. She was born on August 31, 1933, the daughter of Francis Thomas and Lucy Wilkinson Wiggins. She attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School. Francine graduated with an associate degree from Weber College, and Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Utah State University.

She began her teaching career in Ogden City Schools at Lynn and T.O. Smith Elementary. She accepted a position at Utah State University’s Edith Bowen Laboratory School where she taught 2nd Grade and trained and supervised student teachers. She returned to Ogden in 1956 and finished her teaching career at Polk Elementary School where she taught 1st Grade for many years.

Francine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for her entire life. She served in the 33rd and Taylor Canyon Ward. She loved children and music. She was a chorister in Junior Sunday School, Primary, and served for ten years as Ward Chorister. She taught in Primary, Young Womens, and Relief Society. She served for eight years in the Ogden Temple.

She spent many years doing family history. She spent countless hours indexing and compiling information about her ancestors. She created a link from the past to the present.

Francine had a great love of family and supported them through all their endeavors. She created a legacy of traditions and fostered relationships through many generations. Francine loved to knit and created one of a kind Christmas stockings for every member of her extended family.

She was an avid fan of Utah State and Weber State sports. She was a proud season ticket holder for many years.

Francine is survived by her nieces, Kayleen (Don) Paul, Debra (Randy) Johnson, Lori Teeples, and Lynnae (Rod) Dopp; nephews, Kent (Nancy) Larkin and Scott Larkin; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Verna May (George) Larkin, Kathryn (David) Lund, and Evelyn Wiggins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Hidden Valley Ward, 1643 26th Street, Ogden (formerly the Taylor Canyon Ward). Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Stonehenge of Ogden for their loving care and attention to Francine.
