May 10, 2024 a special spirit left this earth. Francesca Dee Spencer Hopson passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her Woods Cross home with her husband and son at her side.
She was born October 18, 1965 in Bremerton, Washington. Her parents, Blaine Earl and Betty Spencer, and three-year-old brother Brian adored her from the moment they saw her perfectly round bald head. Francesca was a joy to raise. She was a peacemaker in her home. She made lifelong best friends and grew up happy. She became a beautiful, intelligent, talented, selfless women. Francesca was an accomplished pianist. She was an avid reader that taught herself to read at age four. Her family knew how to play. They enjoyed many adventures together.
Spending time in the sun at Lake Powell was one of the family’s favorites.
Francesca met the love of her life, Steven Anthony Hopson, at Viewmont High School. She attended Weber State University while Steve was on his mission. But she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a gemologist. She took courses in gemology and worked in the ZCMI department store’s fine jewelry. Francesca and Steve were married in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on August 15, 1986.
In 1988 they had their first beautiful daughter, Halli Spencer. Then four years later another, just as beautiful daughter, Hilari Spencer. Four years after Hilari, Steve got his handsome son, Harrison Steven. The three children and two four legged boys completed the Hopson family.
After the children came, Francesca worked with her dad at the First Security Bank’s computer center as a data processer. She loved working with her father and seeing him every day. Francesca and Steve raised three wonderful children. They played and prayed together. They took many family trips. They spent many hours watching Harrison play baseball and Hilari participating in gymnastics and cheers and supporting Halli in her activities. As a family they participated in church services and activities.
Francesca came to this earth with a special spirit. She had a kind goodness that radiated from her. She was a role model to her children. She loved her Heavenly Father and was an active member of the LDS church where she served in many callings. Francesca spent most of her time playing the piano in primary. She also served as a counselor and teacher in relief society. Francesca and Steve were married 36 years. Steve never stopped adoring her. As her health declined in the last several years he became her caregiver. He lovingly attended to her every need. He and their son Harrison were by her side when she passed away.
The hardest thing her family has experienced was losing her. They are comforted knowing she is with her dad and that they can see her again. Francesca left five grandchildren behind – Hilari’s four boys: Lincoln, Maxwell, Henry and baby Bowen Pectol and Halli’s daughter Dahlia
LeMmon. She is preceded in death by grandparents, her father Blaine Earl Spencer, sister-in-law Jana Adams and her dog Hobi. She left behind her mother Betty Ann Spencer (John Wilcox), husband Steven Anthony Hopson, children Halli Spencer LeMmon (Sean), Hilari Spencer Pectol (Austin), Harrison, brother Brian Earl Spencer (Patricia), mother-in-law Nancy Ruth Hopson, five grandchildren and her close companion and four-legged friend Frank.
